About the Role
INEOS Automotive is a pioneering company established to build no-nonsense 4X4 vehicles. Having progressed from vision to prototype and secured a world-class production facility, we have delivered Grenadiers globally and are now developing the Quartermaster double cab pick-up. Our Automotive team is international, diverse, and driven by grit, rigor, and humor to challenge the ordinary.
We are seeking a hands-on BI Developer to join Global Sales Operations. You will work closely with the Global Sales Reporting Lead to build and maintain the reporting estate supporting global sales, retailer, and customer experience operations. Your primary focus will be transforming agreed requirements into robust, well-modelled Power BI solutions on top of our Snowflake data platform.
You will manage a live portfolio of dashboards covering leads, order take, handovers, retailer performance, inventory, and customer experience. Our technology stack includes Microsoft Power BI (with composite models over Azure Analysis Services and shared enterprise datasets), Snowflake as the data warehouse, and Power Automate for reporting workflow automation.
This role offers excellent career development opportunities within a leading company committed to extending data and reporting products across the organisation.
Experience
- Strong Power BI development skills including data modelling, advanced DAX (filter context, time intelligence, performance), Power Query, and report design
- Experience with composite models and shared/enterprise datasets (DirectQuery to Analysis Services or Power BI datasets) and understanding their limitations
- Strong SQL skills with ability to write, test, and tune queries against cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred)
- Solid understanding of dimensional modelling (Kimball methodology) and when to solve problems in the warehouse versus semantic model
- Experience administering the Power BI Platform including licensing, security roles, permissions, and workspaces
- Experience in report/dashboard development and managing Power BI Platform
- Exposure to SAP-sourced data (S/4HANA, C4C) and ELT tools such as Dell Boomi
- Experience with Power Automate or similar tools for scheduled data exports and workflow automation
- Experience building data pipelines and end-to-end data solutions using Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Fabric
- Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project management principles
- Experience in training, presenting, and communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts, architecture, and BI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
About you
- Proactive with a strong drive to own products both in development and operation
- Excellent communication skills to explain goals, objectives, and limitations clearly
- Positive attitude with ability to see opportunities and benefits of work
- Detail-oriented, questioning solutions to ensure clarity and understanding
- Commercially aware, understanding business reasons beyond technical challenges
- Pragmatic approach to resolving conflicts between ideal solutions and immediate needs
Qualifications
No specific formal qualifications are mandated; however, demonstrable experience and skills in Power BI development, SQL, data modelling, and BI platform administration are essential.
