About the Role
Barker Associates, an award-winning, employee-owned property consultancy, is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London team. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK, delivering building surveying services with technical expertise and professionalism. Your responsibilities will include assisting with building condition surveys and producing clear, insightful reports, supporting the preparation of tender documentation such as drawings, specifications, and schedules of work, and assisting with tender submissions, contractor analysis, and drafting JCT construction contracts. You will participate in pre-contract briefings, ensure smooth project handovers, carry out regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and health & safety compliance, and attend client and project meetings representing the business confidently. The role requires travel to sites and client locations as needed, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with all relevant design standards and regulations.

Experience
- Relevant degree or strong working experience in building surveying
- Experience working with AutoCAD
- Working towards or aiming to achieve RICS Chartership

- Professional, confident, and able to represent the business effectively in client and project meetings
- Willingness to travel to sites and client locations as required
- Full clean driving licence with access to own vehicle
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications
- License to use drones on construction sites (desirable)
- CSCS Card (desirable)
