About the Role
As a Building Surveyor at Tesco, you will play a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming stores for customers and colleagues. Bringing your MRICS or MCIOB qualified expertise, you will identify and resolve building issues efficiently, prioritising safety, compliance, and quality. This nation-wide role focuses on building surveying predominantly across the region north of the River Thames, impacting the shopping experience of thousands of customers daily.

Your responsibilities will include conducting building dilapidation and defect diagnosis inspections, liaising with maintenance teams to implement appropriate solutions, carrying out building surveys and inspections to identify risks, and preparing specifications for remedial works. You will perform quality and cost assurance checks on maintenance works, review contractor estimates for value for money, and collaborate on developing planned maintenance regimes (PPMs) to ensure effective estate maintenance.

You will provide technical input on building fabric maintenance across various building types, work closely with maintenance teams to ensure compliance, lead individual maintenance projects focused on building improvements and Health & Safety, and ensure statutory compliance on all building maintenance matters including CDM, Work at Height, and Asbestos. Additionally, you will contribute to design standards and the Building Condition Survey process to specify appropriate materials and ensure relevant survey outputs.

Experience
- Chartered RICS or CIOB Building Surveyor
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or Construction
- Experience in retail or equivalent building surveying/construction experience is desirable
