About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical Business Intelligence Engineer to join Amazon's Global Accounting Business Intelligence and Analytics team. The Accounting BI team supports the global Accounting organization with process automation and improvements, developing automated reporting solutions and tools, and enhancing the ability of the accounting organization to process, analyze, access, and consume accurate and timely financial data. You will partner closely with accountants and financial analysts across Amazon's diverse businesses and industries. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces ambiguity and big data, and tackles the challenges of a highly complex business context. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Accounting and software development teams on enterprise-level projects, designing, developing, and maintaining scalable solutions for global stakeholders, coordinating project prioritization with multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities end to end within defined timelines, supporting ad-hoc reporting and data analysis needs, and integrating AI capabilities into business intelligence operations to enhance insights, optimization, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Experience
- Analyzing and interpreting data using Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL or similar databases
- Data visualization with Tableau, QuickSight, or comparable tools
- Proficiency with industry analytics visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, or PowerBI
- Familiarity with statistical methods including t-test and Chi-squared
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience working in the data/business intelligence space

You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing ambiguity and complex data challenges. You are collaborative, able to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and motivated to leverage AI and advanced analytics to drive business improvements.

Qualifications
- Master's degree or advanced technical degree preferred
- Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design
- Experience with statistical and correlation analysis
