About the Role
Are you passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential through sport? Croydon Council is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Sports Coaches to deliver inclusive sports and physical activity sessions for children and young people with disabilities across community programmes and initiatives. You will plan and deliver safe, fun, enjoyable and progressive coaching sessions at various locations across the borough, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of participants at all times. Working within the Sport & Leisure Team, you will help create positive sporting experiences that support participation, development and inclusion.

As a casual role, flexibility is essential and the successful candidate must be able to travel independently across the borough. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Requirements

Experience
- A recognised National Governing Body coaching qualification (minimum Level 1 or equivalent)
- Experience of sports coaching and working with children and young people

- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- Ability to lead, motivate and support children and young people during coaching sessions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to equality, diversity and continuous professional development
- Flexibility to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and school holiday periods
- Ability to travel independently across the borough

Qualifications
