About the Role
Sandberg is a civil engineering consultancy specialising in construction materials. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both laboratory and site environments. You will assist with testing and inspection work across various departments including Metallurgy, Steelwork Inspection, Construction Materials, Building Inspection and Investigation, and Geology. The role involves sample preparation, mechanical testing, strength and compression tests, and the use of workshop machines such as saws, drills, coring rigs, and linishers. Site work includes load testing of barriers, coating and corrosion inspections, coring and concrete dust sampling, carbonation testing, and supporting consultants and inspectors in recording site information.
This apprenticeship provides real insight into the use of materials in construction and the challenges that arise.
