Senior Clinical Practitioner (Grade 12): £54,360 - £61,686 per annum
Clinical Practitioner (Grade 11): £50,175 - £57,495 per annum
Both roles receive a 10% Registered Mental Health Professional payment supplement, subject to annual review and continuation
About the Role
Join Southwark’s Clinical Service for Children and Families, dedicated to ensuring every child and young person has a safe, loving environment and opportunities to thrive. We are recruiting for two key roles within our Clinical Service:
Senior Clinical Practitioner – Residential Children’s Homes
This unique role involves working as part of the care team supporting looked after children in local residential homes. You will collaborate closely with care staff to understand and meet the emotional and psychological needs of children, facilitate reflective practice, and provide direct therapeutic support. You will also contribute to the wider Clinical Service for Looked After Children and Care Leavers, promoting a holistic and trauma-informed approach to care.
Clinical Practitioner – Safeguarding Families Service
Work within ambitious and supportive social work teams focused on improving safety and reducing risks for families in Southwark. This role provides clinical input to help families navigate complex challenges through systemic work with children, parents, and carers. You will offer assessments, interventions, and consultation to social workers and other professionals.
About Our Clinical Service
We seek UK-registered therapists and mental health professionals, including systemic therapists, clinical psychologists, or those with equivalent qualifications, who are passionate about making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within a systemic framework
- Provide consultation, training, and joint work with social work and Youth Offending Service colleagues
- Deliver clinical assessments and interventions to vulnerable children, parents, and carers
- Analyse complex clinical data to inform care and legal decisions
Experience
- Experience working systemically with children and families
- For Senior Clinical Practitioner role: experience working with looked after children and in residential children’s homes or social care teams supporting looked after children
About You
- Commitment to trauma-informed, anti-discriminatory, and inclusive clinical practice
- Confidence working collaboratively with professionals from diverse backgrounds to support positive change
Qualifications
- Hold a recognised therapeutic qualification and be registered with a relevant professional body (e.g. UKCP, BACP, BABCP, NMC, or HCPC)
