About the Role
Drug discovery is one of the most important and least solved problems globally. Biology is complex, data sparse, and development cycles slow and costly, often ending in failure. Traditional approaches relying on brute force, more compute, or incremental speed improvements are insufficient. This role offers the opportunity to lead a company building an AI-driven closed-loop agentic system that performs end-to-end scientific reasoning, producing traceable, evidence-backed predictions for drug discovery and development.

As Co-founder & CEO, you will take an already-built platform through spin-out, lead a competitive seed round, and drive the company to Series A. You will shape strategy and positioning alongside technical and product founders, lead fundraising, build commercial partnerships, pilots, and paying customers across pharma and biotech, and oversee company building including hiring, board relations, grants, academic partnerships, and daily operations.

The platform has demonstrated strong proof of concept, processing complex biological data and generating drug-target hypotheses with clear provenance. The mission is to transform drug development by reliably predicting clinical trial outcomes with mechanistic explanations, validated by rigorous benchmarks.

This is a deeply hands-on founding role requiring leadership from day one, working closely with the founding team to set strategic direction and build a category-defining AI company focused on drug discovery.

Experience
- World-class expertise in AI with real ownership of work recognized by the field, or deep drug-discovery experience if your name alone raises investment.
- Proven track record of leading a priced funding round or a reputation that makes one raisable.
- Ability to commit full-time from spin-out.
- UK base preferred, but a strong US base and investor network are highly valued.
- Not recently building a company focused on agentic reasoning, knowledge graphs, and hypothesis generation for drug discovery.

Preferred Experience
- Time at a frontier AI lab or top AI-for-science company with a role recognized by the field.
- Strong, transferable investor network in AI, deep tech, bio, or health.
- Experience scaling a company from seed to Series A and beyond.
- Commercial and business development experience including partnerships, pilots, and paying customers.
- Experience selling technical or scientific software into pharma, biotech, or research institutions.
