About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. As a Colocation Regional Engineer, you will drive Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers globally. You will work directly with Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams both regionally and globally. You will lead projects to fit out data centers to meet evolving customer needs as we expand our hyper-scale fleet.
In this role, you will act as the engineering representative for the Data Center Field Engineering Team, responsible for successful project delivery. You will assist in data center site selection, planning, and development, evaluating mechanical and electrical systems to make data-driven decisions based on AWS guidelines.
Key responsibilities include working with colocation vendors to review new data center designs, acting as resident engineer during construction projects, troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis for site or equipment failures, providing technical support for data center upgrades, and leading engineering site audits with risk assessments and mitigation recommendations. You will collaborate with multiple teams to maintain consistency and reliability in services and work on concurrent projects across multiple regions.

Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
- Experience in commissioning
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License (preferred)
- Experience with building codes and regulations relevant to your region (preferred)
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production (preferred)
- Ability to read, interpret, and create construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents (preferred)
