About the Role
Are you a creative communications professional passionate about making trusted information accessible and engaging? As Communications Manager for the House of Commons Library and POST, you will play a key role in ensuring that MPs, their staff, and wider audiences can easily discover and engage with impartial research, analysis, and information that supports parliamentary democracy.

Working within the Communications and Engagement team, you will develop and deliver proactive communications campaigns, create compelling content across a range of channels, manage social media and newsletters, and identify innovative ways to promote the Library and POST's services and publications. You will collaborate closely with researchers, stakeholders, and colleagues across Parliament to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications that resonate with diverse audiences.

This is a varied, fast-paced, and rewarding role offering the opportunity to work at the heart of UK Parliament, helping to ensure that reliable, impartial information remains central to democratic decision-making.

Benefits
Alongside your salary of £37,834, the House of Commons contributes £10,960 towards membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience leading communications campaigns, with the ability to design content tailored to different audiences and channels. Experience in managing social media, newsletters, and multi-channel communications is essential. Ability to evaluate and adapt communications strategies based on performance data.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences. Creative flair with the ability to devise appealing targeted content. Strong planning and project management skills, highly motivated with effective prioritisation abilities. Outstanding stakeholder management skills, confident in negotiation and persuasion, and committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Politically aware with a good understanding of reputational risk and the ability to act impartially.
