About the Role
Are you a creative communicator who can turn complex ideas into clear, engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences? Join Islington Council’s Strategic Programmes team as a Communications, Marketing and Engagement Officer, playing a key role in improving outcomes for babies, children, young people and families. You will support major transformation programmes including the Families First Partnership Programme and Best Start Family Hubs.
You will help plan and deliver communications and engagement activities that enable colleagues, partners, and residents to understand and contribute to key programmes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing clear, accessible content across digital and print channels
- Supporting campaigns, launches, consultations, and engagement events
- Translating complex policy and service changes into meaningful messages
- Collaborating closely with programme teams, corporate communications, and partners
- Using insight and feedback to review and improve communications activity
- Ensuring communications reflect the voices and experiences of diverse communities

Experience
- Proven experience delivering communications, campaigns, or engagement activity
- Strong writing and editing skills across multiple formats including briefings, web content, and campaigns
- Experience supporting events, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activities
- Ability to use insight and feedback to improve communications
