About the Role

Ofcom’s mission is to make communications work for everyone. We are seeking an experienced social media influencer and partnerships manager to help explain Ofcom’s work in online safety and other policy areas. Ofcom regulates communications services including phone, broadband, TV, radio, airwaves, and postal services, with new duties focused on making online services safer for everyone across the UK. The Communications Partnerships Manager will identify, recruit, and manage relationships with a roster of ambassadors (or ‘influencers’) and partners who help communicate important information about online safety to social media audiences. This hands-on role involves full responsibility for managing Ofcom’s relationships with these individuals from start to finish. Responsibilities include using research tools to scope and shortlist potential influencers and partners; initiating contact; conducting due diligence to ensure appropriateness and responsibility; negotiating terms; and collaborating with Communications colleagues on messaging and outcomes.
You will be central to how Ofcom communicates vital information about online safety, bringing a wide range of people on board and working closely with internal stakeholders to maximize impact.
Experience
Demonstrable experience in digital communications with a strong track record in forming and managing influencer relationships. In-depth understanding of modern digital communications and the ability to make strategic recommendations about effective channels and spokespeople for particular messages or audiences. Proven commitment to measurement and evaluation, using data and insights to shape communications strategy.

Excellent organisational skills with enthusiasm for managing concurrent projects and ensuring milestones are met. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly form trusted relationships with internal and external parties. Confident personality comfortable pitching opportunities and negotiating terms. Familiarity with Ofcom’s regulated industries, particularly online safety, is an advantage.
