About the Role
We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to join the Amazon Payments UK (APUK) team to support compliance operations within the firm. Reporting to APUK's Senior Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting regulatory compliance of the payments propositions in the UK. As part of the 2nd line Compliance Office, you will provide regulatory oversight and approval for new programs, offer expert advice to stakeholders, and contribute regulatory input to strategy design. This role requires a subject matter expert who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment, champions customer outcomes, and uses industry knowledge to ensure sustainable, compliant solutions.

You will handle ambiguity with confidence, provide pragmatic challenges to colleagues and leadership, and actively engage in detailed work. Thinking creatively and delivering solutions in uncertain situations will be key to your success.

Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring APUK's payment activities comply with all legal and regulatory requirements by monitoring business activity
- Applying working knowledge of FCA regulations such as Safeguarding, Consumer Duty, Payment Services Regulations, and Policies to assess customer and control impacts and drive alignment across teams
- Assisting with the development, documentation, and maintenance of policies and procedures
- Providing compliance awareness and training to the business
- Preparing reports for internal governance committees
- Reviewing, challenging, and approving risk records, policy breaches, and matters for escalation
- Collaborating with business leads to gather information for auditors and regulators
- Monitoring regulatory changes and emerging risks to proactively communicate developments and support implementation of regulatory change

Experience
- Minimum of four years compliance experience in financial services, risk and compliance, or within a financial regulatory body or consultancy practice
- Proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and partner with people at all organizational levels
- Strong understanding of Payment Services Regulations 2017 and FCA regulations, including safeguarding, prudential, and consumer duty
- Experience within the payments sector and/or fintech environment is preferred
- Experience managing relationships with regulatory bodies is advantageous

Qualifications
No specific academic qualifications are mandated; however, relevant compliance certifications or training would be beneficial. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is essential.
