About the Role
The Data Center Construction Cost Control (CCC) team is part of a highly creative and driven group dedicated to deploying Amazon's continuously evolving data center facilities. As a Construction Cost Engineer, you will provide cost support, guidance, and recommendations to the project delivery team to ensure effective cost management and analysis across a portfolio of fast-paced construction projects. You will be involved in the full life cycle of construction projects, collaborating with experts from design, construction, procurement, finance, and legal teams to deliver efficient and innovative data centers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Your role will include managing third party Quantity Surveyors, validating construction cost estimates at various design stages, and working seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams. You will communicate cost control goals to stakeholders, identify value engineering opportunities, update historical data repositories, define and track cost performance metrics, and lead monthly cost reporting. Additionally, you will analyze vendor proposals, create bid leveling documents, validate final award amounts and scopes, implement cost control and change management processes, validate construction change cost impacts, ensure vendor invoice accuracy and timeliness, support project close-out and final payments, and consistently deliver results across multiple projects.

Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction cost control, with specific knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or CSA cost elements.
- Experience communicating estimate strategy to both construction and non-construction professionals.
- Experience working in Data Center or other mission critical construction environments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience reviewing and justifying budgets and estimates.
- Experience on Data Centre or Life Science type projects is advantageous.
