About the Role
Royal Greenwich is a vibrant borough with a rich history and diverse community. We are proud of the work we do to serve our residents and have a vision of a happier, healthier and more connected borough. To achieve this, we are investing heavily in our digital services and updating our digital strategy to shape the next four years and beyond.
As a Content Designer in our Product team within Digital, Operations and Access, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team designing new products and improving existing ones. You will work closely with other council teams to improve information about their services, balancing their needs with business and technical constraints.
You will advocate for our users, whether residents or staff, using data and research to ensure our products and services meet their needs. Reporting to a senior content designer, you will also play an active role in our content design community of practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading content design for our most complex products and services, working openly with the user at the centre of all you do, including managing multiple product teams concurrently.
- Working in multidisciplinary teams to deliver services end to end from discovery to live.
- Contributing to content strategy for whole service transformation and product development.
- Creating standards, guidance and style patterns for the council to ensure content is human-centred, clear, accessible, helpful, inclusive and of a high standard across all channels and services.
- Collaborating across the council to explain the benefits of content design and transfer skills where appropriate.
- Supporting junior team members to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and helping develop high-performing people.
Experience
Some content design experience, ideally on multidisciplinary agile projects. Experience managing stakeholder relationships is also required.
