Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for financial and contract coordination, business operations, and team leadership? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Royal College of Art as the Contracts and Business Operations Lead for the IT, Library and Technical Services Department. This is a full-time role based across all 3 sites of The RCA on a 1-year fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight: Coordinate financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting for the department Directorate. Act as the lead for contract management, maintaining a register of 200+ specialist current and legacy service contracts. Oversee procurement, billing, payment activities, and ensure compliance with college finance procedures. Business Operations: Management of the administration team within the department. Lead business operations activities, working with a diverse team of approximately 200 staff. Support the Head of Portfolio & Business Operations in a unified approach to business processes across the department . Communication and Documentation: Produce guidance and documentation for stakeholders, keeping them informed about developments and changes. Oversee the maintenance of Department webpages on the College's intranet and website. Data and Information Management: Review sensitive information created and managed by IT, Library and Technical Services to ensure adherence to GDPR standards. Stay current with regulations related to Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests. Essential Qualifications and Skills: Demonstrable experience in accounting/budgeting procedures. Proven ability to manage the full contract lifecycle for various goods and services. Proven staff management experience. Strong digital literacy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and financial management systems. Adaptability to new systems and technologies. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Desirable: Experience in Higher Education. Familiarity with College-specific systems (Financial, HR/Payroll, CRM, etc.).
