We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our London office. The role involves overseeing and managing multiple projects from start through to completion, including the defects period. You will ensure all works are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

As a Contracts Manager, you will be the first point of contact for clients, design teams, site managers, subcontractors, suppliers and the general public throughout the contract duration. You will communicate and negotiate professionally with clients, architects, structural engineers and all staff levels, from site workers to directors. Health & Safety will be a top priority, and you will work in line with the company’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems.

Your responsibilities will include producing programmes of works for projects, from master programmes to individual work task items, monitoring and overseeing site managers and their projects with weekly site visits, and holding overall commercial responsibility by ensuring timely project valuations and issuance of practical completion certificates to guarantee swift payments.

Experience
Proven experience in managing others with strong leadership and people management skills. Good understanding and technical knowledge of the construction industry, including the ability to read architectural drawings and understand the construction process. Experience working with NEC and JCT contracts is essential.

Ability to construct accurate and realistic construction programmes and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong commercial sense and experience in decision making.

You will be a team player with initiative and enthusiasm, well organised and capable of meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards clients, architects and colleagues are required.

Good math and IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and Outlook.

You will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the latest Health & Safety legislation and Building Regulations.

Qualifications
Relevant construction industry qualifications are preferred. A solid understanding of contract law and the contracting process is required.
