About the Role
We are looking for a Paralegal to support our conveyancing team with a mix of legal research, document preparation, and case support work. This role sits between the administrative Conveyancing Executive and a fully fee-earning Conveyancer: you will handle substantive legal tasks under supervision, including aspects of title investigation, search reviews, and client communication, while developing the case knowledge and judgment needed to progress toward a Conveyancer role.
Your responsibilities will include assisting Conveyancers with title investigation, including reviewing office copy entries, planning searches, and environmental reports; preparing draft reports on title, contract packs, and standard form replies to enquiries under solicitor supervision; reviewing search results and flagging issues to the supervising Conveyancer; preparing completion statements, transfer deeds, and mortgage documentation under supervision; managing client correspondence and updating clients on case progress; conducting AML and source of funds checks at the direction of the supervising Conveyancer; supporting the Post Completion team with AP1 preparation and SDLT return documentation; maintaining accurate case records on the Homey platform; and assisting with legal research on non-standard title or property issues as required.
Experience
1+ years of experience in a conveyancing, property law, or general legal support role
Solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process and the key documents involved
About you
Strong written English: able to draft clear, accurate correspondence and legal documents
Organised and thorough, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
Keen to learn and develop: you are not looking for a static support role but a stepping stone to qualification
Qualifications
Law degree, GDL, LPC, or equivalent legal qualification (completed or in progress)
Nice to have
- CILEx membership or active study toward qualification as a licensed conveyancer or solicitor
- Experience using a conveyancing case management system
- Familiarity with HMLR portal, Land Registry searches, or AP1 submissions
- Exposure to leasehold or new build matters
