Barnardo's Wetherell Nursery Initial Location of Post Wetherell Nursery, 17 Iveagh Close, Hackney E9 7BW History of Service Barnardo's provides full day care and sessional day care for children from six months to five years old in Wetherell 17 Iveagh Close, Hackney E9 7BW. Objectives of Service The Nursery complies with OFSTED requirements and work closely with their respective London Boroughs; offering learning through play experience and healthy, nutritious meals. The nurseries are open for 51 weeks a year from 8.00 to 18.00 hours daily To be responsible for daily preparation and cooking of nourishing meals and snacks for approximately 100 children aged 3 mths – 5 yrs Job Purpose: • To provide a high standard of meal preparation and presentation in the area of the service in which you work. • To co-operate closely with colleagues within a multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities/Activities: • Working to prescribed menus • Ordering, collection and recording of foods from the central stores as required • Preparing food carefully and hygienically • Preparing and cooking of foods to be preserved as required • Presenting prepared food for the table • Safely using cookers, deep-fat fryers, mixers, kettles and other kitchen appliances • Caring for your equipment, materials and utensils to include thorough cleaning and storage after use • Helping to achieve and maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene • Responding flexibly in times of need to complete tasks in areas of the service other than your own
