About the Role
Join Amazon's innovative EU legal team focused on enabling business growth through smart risk-taking. This role empowers selling partners, business customers, and builders of the Amazon shopping experience to innovate and achieve global success while protecting customer, brand, and selling partner trust in our European stores. As Corporate Counsel, you will support Amazon’s European Stores businesses on compliance efforts across strategic product, environmental compliance, and safety topics.
You will advise on novel and evolving regulatory requirements for products sold in Europe, with emphasis on key horizontal laws including the New Legislative Framework, Market Surveillance Regulation, General Product Safety Regulation, and Digital Services Act. You will lead the design and implementation of compliance strategies for emerging technology regulations such as the EU's Data Act, AI Act, and Cyber Resilience Act.
In this role, you will serve as the EU legal representative for a regulatory horizon scanning program, tracking new EU and Member State regulations and their impact on Amazon. You will develop and apply AI-driven solutions and leverage proprietary technology to simplify and scale best practices. Coordination with Amazon’s public policy and legal teams, as well as impacted business lines, will be key to managing the lifecycle of policy initiatives from consultation to implementation.
You will partner with public policy teams to execute strategic advocacy campaigns and engage with EU regulators and authorities. This role is at the forefront of anticipating and shaping Amazon’s response to new worldwide and EU regulations. You will connect deeply with Amazon’s technology and operations, supporting organizations committed to trusted selection in EU Stores and enabling sellers with industry-leading compliance solutions.
As a thought leader, you will analyze legislative frameworks, support public policy advocacy, and stay ahead of upcoming legislation while regularly applying new technologies. You will coordinate with lawyers worldwide and Amazon business teams to make Amazon the safest and most trusted store on earth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve an EU-wide regulatory horizon scanning program, designing strategy, governance, and coordination across jurisdictions to anticipate and respond to fast-moving EU regulatory changes.
- Drive innovation at the intersection of law and technology by leveraging AI, automation, and data analytics to transform regulatory risk monitoring and communication.
- Empower collaboration and information-sharing across the EU legal team, building workflows that convert complex regulatory intelligence into actionable business value.
- Establish mechanisms to simplify and align the work of diverse lawyers advising on novel EU legislation implementation.
- Advise on innovative compliance solutions across Europe, building processes that mitigate risk while allowing business flexibility.
- Support business leaders and internal teams on compliance, safety, and environmental topics.
- Collaborate with public policy teams to influence upcoming legislation.
- Resolve issues arising during regulatory interactions.
- Develop creative, business-centric legal strategies.
Experience
Minimum 5+ years post-qualification legal experience. Licensed to practice law in Europe, US, or other common law jurisdiction.

Proactive and innovative legal professional with strong regulatory knowledge and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities across teams. Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
Fluency in French, Spanish, German, or Italian is preferred.
Experience with legal AI tools such as CoCounsel, Spellbook, or Harvey AI is advantageous.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer licensed to practice in Europe, US, or other common law jurisdiction.
Strong understanding of EU regulatory frameworks, particularly in product compliance, environmental law, and emerging technology regulations.
Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and data analytics in legal practice.
