About the Role
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, dedicated to delivering fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks. We are seeking an experienced and technically savvy lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Amazon Leo's international licensing activity. Embedded within the Amazon Leo team, you will identify and analyse complex and novel legal issues with high visibility, providing strategic counsel on satellite technology and regulatory licensing matters across EMEA.

The role involves collaborating closely with technical, regulatory, and business teams to assess legal implications of new initiatives and advise on risk mitigation strategies. You will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, support senior leadership in evaluating business-critical decisions, and provide legal guidance on telecommunications law, spectrum licensing, and international regulatory matters.

A typical day includes engaging with emerging regulatory frameworks for low Earth orbit networks, working alongside technical teams to understand system architecture, and advising on strategic decisions involving spectrum licensing and international telecommunications agreements. Your work will have significant impact, influencing how Amazon Leo navigates the complex landscape of bringing internet connectivity to communities worldwide.

Experience
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification legal experience at a law firm or in-house counsel role, with a license to practice law in Europe, the US, or another common law jurisdiction. Experience advising senior executives or organizational leadership on legal and strategic matters, including negotiation and execution of commercial contracts. Background in technology law, telecommunications law, regulatory matters, or international business matters is preferred. Experience combining corporate law firm and in-house work is advantageous.

Qualifications
