About the Role
Come make history and join Amazon's Legal Department by supporting global trade matters, spanning customs and import compliance, tariffs, export controls, and sanctions, in service of our global business! This role will lead all Europe, Middle East and Africa global trade matters and collaborate with business and legal teams across AWS and Amazon to develop innovative legal and business solutions. You will navigate complex and rapidly evolving regulatory landscapes, deliver trade legal counsel on emerging technologies like AI and quantum computing, and directly influence AWS's global strategic initiatives.
Your day will be dynamic and impactful, involving direct collaboration with global business teams, researching emerging regulatory trends, and developing creative compliance and business-impacting strategies. You will engage with cross-functional teams, translating complex legal frameworks into actionable business guidance, and play a critical role in supporting AWS's emerging technological advancements.

We work at the intersection of technology, law, and global strategy, supporting AWS's mission to transform how businesses leverage cloud technologies worldwide. Your expertise will be crucial in helping us navigate the intricate regulatory environments of emerging technologies.
Experience
- Licensed to practice law in Europe, US, or other common law jurisdiction
- 5+ years post-qualification legal experience
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners
- Knowledge of international trade laws, including import, customs, export controls, or sanctions
- Exceptional research and analytical skills with ability to summarize regulatory impacts
- Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
- Ability to provide practical legal guidance in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Qualifications
