£40,144 per annum plus benefits and a 3% bonus.
About the Role
This Craft Attendant Jointer role reports to the Field Staff Supervisor and operates within UK Power Networks' network operations. You will assist jointers working on live 240/415v electrical apparatus, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety procedures and network standards. Key responsibilities include observing live LV apparatus work, setting up equipment and vehicles, assisting with excavation and cable jointing tasks, using IT systems such as SAP Work Manager, and liaising with external contractors. You will also help deter public distractions during live electrical work and ensure appropriate safety signage is displayed. The role requires adherence to the Electricity at Work Act and other relevant policies, with training provided both on the job and at a training centre. Successful candidates will be subject to medical and DBS checks.

Experience
Experience in cable jointing is desirable but not essential. Candidates should have a sound knowledge of electrical distribution and an understanding of the Electricity at Work Act. Experience or knowledge of the New Roads & Streetworks Act (NRSWA) Units 1, 2, and 3 is required.
About You
You must be safety conscious with the ability to apply health and safety policies effectively. Good judgement and the ability to undertake risk assessments are essential. You should be able to work well within a team and liaise effectively with colleagues and external contractors. A full UK driving licence is required. You must be physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including compliance with weight limits for working at height or using fall arrest equipment.
Qualifications
Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
Trained in Emergency First Aid.
New Roads & Streetworks Act (NRSWA) Units 1, 2, and 3 successfully achieved.
Awareness of network standards and health and safety policies relevant to the role.
Training will be provided both on the job and at a training centre to ensure full competence.
