About the Role
The Victoria and Albert Museum is seeking a Curator of Dance to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to develop and manage the museum’s dance collections, exhibitions, and related public programmes. You will work closely with other curatorial and education teams to enhance the understanding and appreciation of dance through innovative displays and research. The position involves curating exhibitions, acquiring new materials, and engaging with the dance community and wider audiences to promote the museum’s collections.
Experience
Proven experience in curating dance or performing arts collections, exhibitions, or related projects. Strong knowledge of dance history and contemporary practice is essential.
About you
Passionate about dance and cultural heritage, with excellent communication and organisational skills. Able to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Creative, proactive, and committed to public engagement.
Qualifications
A relevant degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Museum Studies, or a related discipline is required. Postgraduate qualifications and curatorial experience within a museum or cultural institution are highly desirable.
