About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Damp Surveyor to join our Housing and Safer Communities department within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within our Repairs and Investment service, dedicated to enhancing social housing for our community. You will conduct full property surveys focusing on the diagnosis of damp, mould and condensation (DMC), produce drawings and floor plans, diagnose general building faults, and prepare specifications for improvement works. You will order works using appropriate systems and tendering procedures to ensure best value and supervise works through to completion, adhering to RBG health and safety standards and statutory requirements. You will support the DMC team’s ambitions to adopt a more risk-based, proactive and holistic approach, including summer block surveys and monitoring customer calls. Additionally, you will engage with the Council’s Transformation Programme to help move towards a higher quality, preventative and proactive approach to DMC.

Experience
Proven experience in building surveying, repairs, operational delivery, supervising contracts or disrepair case management, ideally within a social housing setting.
About you
- Educated to degree level, or holding a professional qualification such as RICS or CIOB, or possessing equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of building structures and their contribution to damp, mould and condensation issues.
- Ability to correctly diagnose problems and specify appropriate materials for remedial and improvement works.
- Excellent technical diagnostic, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficient in using monitoring equipment and tools specific to damp and mould assessment.
Qualifications
Degree level education or professional qualification (RICS or CIOB) or equivalent relevant experience is required.
