Ealing Council has an exciting opportunity for a Data and Performance Officer (Schools) to join our Schools Data, Performance and Intelligence team. The post holder will support the delivery of statutory data returns, high-quality analysis, and performance reporting across education services, including school improvement and school place planning.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, schools, and external partners to ensure data is robust, compliant, and informs service priorities and outcomes.

The Data and Performance Officer (Schools) role will involve:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of data systems and reporting arrangements to meet service needs
- Collecting, extracting, cleansing and analysing data to support high-quality reporting and insight
- Supporting the collection and submission of statutory returns, ensuring deadlines and data quality standards are met
- Working with schools to ensure accurate and timely submission of performance data across nearly 100 education settings
- Producing management information, analysis and reports to support decision-making, service improvement and planning
- Contributing to school reports and performance data provided through the Ealing Learning Partnership
- Supporting quality assurance processes, including validation, audits and inspections
- Interpreting policy, legislative and operational requirements and supporting the development of data systems and reporting solutions
- Collaborating with ICT, system providers, and stakeholders to improve data systems and information flows
- Ensuring all data handling complies with GDPR and maintains the highest standards of confidentiality
Experience
- Strong IT skills, including experience with databases and data analysis tools
- Basic analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and produce clear insights
- Experience working with large datasets and management information systems
- Experience in a data, performance or intelligence role within a local authority or similar environment

- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to present data and findings to different audiences
