About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital, Information, and Security Directorate within the Department for Transport during a period of significant restructuring. As Deputy Director, you will be part of the senior leadership team responsible for driving cultural change through strong leadership and role modelling. You will spearhead the establishment and management of four new service lines: Essentials, Protect, Create, and Advance, enhancing operational efficiency and embedding effective processes.

You will identify future digital requirements, modernise ways of working, and act as a key figurehead for digital provision within the department. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for digital service management, ensuring alignment with government and organisational priorities, optimising resources, maintaining employee trust, and supporting operational excellence.

The Deputy Director will oversee end-to-end service lifecycle management, foster collaboration across teams, and horizon scan to future-proof service delivery, ensuring all services meet organisational goals and government requirements.
