About the Role
Join Marshalls Park Academy as a Design Engineer Consultant specialising in pavements. You will be part of the innovative Commercial Design and Engineering Team, delivering sustainable and industry-leading pavement design solutions for prestigious commercial and public realm projects across the South of England. This role involves close collaboration with external sales teams and a wide range of customers including landscape architects, consultant engineers, main contractors, local authorities and housing developers. You will provide expert technical design advice, develop engineering-led pavement solutions from concept through construction, and influence material selection, installation methodology, and long-term performance to ensure compliant, sustainable, and commercially effective outcomes.

This is a dynamic, customer-facing role requiring you to be out in the field alongside sales teams, building strong relationships and delivering consultative technical support. You will also create technical proposals, deliver CPD presentations, and support on-site issue resolution. Your passion for innovation will help drive the development of new products, systems, and design methodologies. Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in pavement, highways, public realm or hard landscaping design.
- Strong knowledge of pavement engineering principles including modular pavements, permeable paving, and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as DMRB, Specification for Highway Works, BS 7533, and CIRIA SuDS guidance.
- Experience in delivering technical presentations and CPD seminars is highly desirable.
- Previous roles may include engineering or technical sales with a strong design and customer focus.

Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or working towards an appropriate professional qualification.
