About the Role
We are seeking a Diagnostic Regulatory Specialist to join the Innovative Devices Function within the Health Quality and Access group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This role focuses on diagnostics and supports the development and implementation of the future regulatory framework for medical devices. The postholder will lead on discrete areas, collaborate with internal teams and senior external stakeholders both nationally and internationally, and provide expert regulatory advice to medical device and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) manufacturers.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative sector during a period of significant transition and change, contributing directly to MHRA priorities. Key responsibilities include delivering elements of the new medical devices regulatory regime, contributing scientific, technical, and policy input to legislation and implementation, supporting Parliamentary processes, overseeing the IVD roadmap, and engaging with international regulators such as the International Medical Devices Regulators Forum (IMDRF).

Experience
- Working knowledge of UK and/or EU Medical Devices legislation.
- Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders in policy development and delivery.
- Experience of policy development in a regulatory environment, including drafting policy and guidance documents.

Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a scientific, engineering, or medical discipline such as physics, chemistry, engineering, life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or medicine.
- Equivalent experience will be accepted in place of a degree.
