About the Role
British Transport Police (BTP) is the national police force for the rail network throughout Great Britain, committed to passenger safety and upholding values of care, integrity, continuous improvement, unity, and pride in protection. We are seeking a Digital Workplace Engineer to join our Technology Department as part of the Digital Workplace Solutions Team. In this role, you will support the development and delivery of secure, robust solutions leveraging Microsoft Power Platform, M365 E5 licensing, and Azure capabilities. You will play a key role in delivering a new case file management platform and enhancing digital workplace services.
You will provide 3rd line technical expertise for Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, and other digital workplace services within an ITIL environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and supporting solutions using Power Platform, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Copilot Studio, AI Agents, and Microsoft 365 technologies. You will develop model-driven and canvas apps, automations, integrations, and intelligent solutions to improve business processes and employee experience.
As a technical consultant, you will identify opportunities to maximise value from Microsoft 365, AI, automation, and low-code technologies, engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, and deliver secure, scalable, user-focused solutions. You will support adoption of Copilot, AI Agents, chatbots, and intelligent automation while promoting best practice governance, security, and compliance. Additional duties include developing integrations using APIs, PowerShell, .NET, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, enhancing FreshService and other platforms through automation and process improvements, managing incidents and service requests to agreed SLAs, and monitoring platform adoption and performance to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Experience
- Proven experience delivering solutions using Power Platform, Dataverse, and Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online, Teams, Copilot, and Copilot Studio.
- Experience building or supporting AI Agents, chatbots, intelligent automation, and low-code solutions.
- Proficiency with C#, .NET, PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs, TypeScript, and React.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, Identity and Access Management, security, and governance.
- Knowledge of Power Platform governance, ALM, licensing, AI governance, data protection, and compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a regulated or similar enterprise environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, presentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
