About the Role

The Project Support Manager will sit within Major Programmes and Projects (MPP) Cyber & Specialist Operations Command (CSOC). This varied and exciting role provides support to the team accountable for delivering complex Capital Infrastructure Delivery, focusing on Performance, Cost and Time, while proactively managing the supply chain to ensure delivery of Life Cycle Replacement or Betterment outcomes.
The position operates within the MPP CSOC facing team and delivers infrastructure projects for CSOC customers. We currently operate a hybrid working model with an expectation that at least 60% of your working time will be spent in the office or on project sites.
This role requires Developed Vetting clearance and is open to Sole UK Nationals only. Candidates must have lived in the UK for the last ten years.
The successful candidate will be required to carry out all duties from a UK location and cannot work from overseas. Due to the nature of the role and IT systems used, attendance in the Northwood office is expected approximately three days per week, with some travel to other sites as required.
The post does not offer relocation expenses. External recruits new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
Experience
Support Project Managers in all aspects of delivering defence infrastructure projects.
Work with Senior Project Manager to identify and set project controls, tracking and reporting delivery against milestones and budgets.
Drive accuracy in cost forecasting, including use of IMS and CP&F, supporting estimating and planning.
Identify and supervise project risks and issues, ensuring effective change management.
Manage project partners and liaise at all levels.
Support PMO activities and act as a point of contact for internal DIO stakeholders.
Schedule and run project resources.
Act as key DIO Point of Contact for Secure Project Office queries.
Assist in delivering benefits against business cases and ensure approvals and assurance plans are in place.
Undertake ad hoc tasks including issue analysis and preparation of management papers.
Act as deputy Project Manager on workstreams and in absence of other team members.
Provide support across programme portfolio to promote collaboration.
Undertake ICT requirements including document transfer and audit checks.

Developed Vetting clearance is required.

Experience with project controls, cost forecasting, and risk management is desirable.
