What's involved with this role: Temporary Document Controller - Disputes Reference no: CLA TCL 0009 1C28 / 1 Pay Rate: up to £18.00 per hour PAYE depending on experience 36 Monday - Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 4-5 months City: SOUTHWARK, LONDON This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in the office and two days of remote work, with some flexibility. Candidates with legal qualifications will have an advantage. Document Controller with a unique set of skills. This role is not your typical Document Controller position, but rather, it is tailored for individuals with a Paralegal background who have a passion for document review and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract work, specifically in construction claims, and possess an investigative mindset with an interest in construction law. The role involves extensive fact-finding, including locating documents and records, and organizing electronic files into a structured format for claim summarization. Responsibilities include supporting the review and preparation of court case documents, collating high volumes of information, and utilizing search tools. The candidate must be IT savvy and have experience working with various shared file systems. Familiarity with Viewpoint document control is preferred but not essential. Key Responsibilities: Support in the discovery of electronic files, emails and hard copy records in connection with construction disputes and litigations. Review of Clarion offsite archived reports and production suitable referencing system. Support in the review, compilation and issue of disclosure submissions in litigations and other dispute resolutions processes. Assist with the production, duplication and hard & electronic document submissions in Adjudications, Arbitrations and Litigations. Provide administration support as required by the dispute team. Scan and upload documents, emails and files to secure data platforms with consultants and legal advisers. Management of the Electronic Document Management System (Viewpoint), keeping up to date as necessary particularly in connection with construction dispute and legal matters. Before any documents are loaded make sure a document quality audit is undertaken and if the document fails it is to be rejected and the original author informed. Assist with the monitoring and process of payments through the ERP payment system for consultants, experts and legal advisers. Knowledge: Understanding of terminology used within a development and construction environment and knowledge of the residential development arena and operating environment. Experience: Experience of Document Management Systems along with excellent IT skills (Word, PowerPoint & Excel), including databases, spreadsheets and other electronic records. Experience of establishing and maintaining accurate systems for access by others, with knowledge of administration and management of practices to support a senior team. Experience of setting up and maintaining document management systems and able to be the central point for this within the Commercial team. Previous experience of researching information and an eagerness to learn about the construction dispute processes Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication skills at all levels and confidence to be able to respond clearly to queries and questions. Able to work on own initiative and develop administrative systems and practices to ensure maintenance and accuracy.
