About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Surveyor for a 3-month temporary assignment based in Highbury East, Islington. This hybrid role offers flexibility to work from home with office visits approximately every 6 weeks. You will manage day-to-day repairs, conduct surveys, and ensure maintenance work meets high standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include liaising with internal and external stakeholders, managing repair budgets, and handling complex repairs for Leasing and Collaborative Delivery of Maintenance (LCDM). This role requires strong coordination skills and the ability to work independently within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day maintenance and repairs for LCDM, ensuring timely completion within budget and quality standards
- Conduct pre- and post-inspections and produce detailed technical reports
- Maintain effective communication with residents, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth repair processes
- Manage repair budgets, review invoices, and ensure financial efficiency in line with contracts
- Address customer queries and ensure high standards of repair work
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, legislation, and internal policies
- Participate in hybrid team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to uphold regional standards
Contract Type
Temporary/Contract, 3-month initial assignment with potential extension based on performance and business needs
Working Arrangement
Hybrid working with office attendance approximately every 6 weeks
Qualifications
Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance Level 3 or equivalent
Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CIOB
Experience
Proven experience in responsive repairs, property management, and surveying within the social housing sector
Skills
- Strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to produce detailed technical reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing relationships with contractors and residents
