Salary
£40,649 to £44,825 per annum (London weighted salary) or £36,073 to £40,014 per annum (Regional salary), dependent on experience. Plus ECU allowance if policy requirements are met.
About the Role
Join L&Q’s Housing Specialisms Team as a Domestic Abuse Specialist working closely with housing management teams and specialist advisors including Mental Health Practitioners, Safeguarding and Vulnerability Specialists. You will support residents who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse by working in partnership with front-line housing teams to ensure best practice and confidence in service delivery.
You will have excellent knowledge of domestic abuse and third sector support services, with proven experience navigating and developing relationships to ensure residents access a coordinated community response. You will work collaboratively with services to achieve positive outcomes, including experience with MARAC and understanding of DAHA.
As a confident trainer and mentor, you will share your expertise with front-line colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills. You will have strong practical knowledge of legislation, regulation, and best practice in domestic abuse and safeguarding, contributing to strategic policy and practice improvements.
Excellent case management skills are essential for managing complex cases, conducting assessments, formulating solutions, managing risks, and safety planning. You will be an effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills, able to simplify complex issues and support others in raising their skills and confidence.
This role offers hybrid working with 20% to 40% of contractual hours worked from the reporting office.

Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in domestic abuse risk assessments and safety planning, including use of DASH (Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Harassment) risk assessment tools. Proven experience working collaboratively with services to achieve positive outcomes for residents, including MARAC involvement and understanding of DAHA.
Strong understanding and application of trauma-informed approaches in housing and tenancy support. Experience challenging decision making and championing survivors.
Extensive and current knowledge of domestic abuse legislation, regulation, and best practice, including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, safeguarding frameworks, and relevant housing law.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Housing, Education, or Community Development, or Safe Lives or Women’s Aid Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Abuse.
Training in risk assessment tools such as DASH.
Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 3 or willingness to work towards.
Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate required or willingness to apply.
