The Transport and Travel Assistance service in Croydon has evolved significantly in recent years to meet increasing demand and demographic pressures, while managing budget constraints. The council is focused on creating an alternative travel model that offers clients more choice and independence.
We are recruiting a minibus driver to join our in-house passenger transport service. The successful candidate will have experience in similar roles and be dedicated to delivering a high-quality, safe, and caring service to a vulnerable client group.
Experience
- Previous experience driving passenger transport vehicles, preferably with young people or adults requiring care and consideration.
- Knowledge of Road Traffic Acts and Highway Code.
- Experience in maintaining appropriate records and reporting incidents.
- Ability to manage and diffuse difficult situations effectively.
- Ability to liaise tactfully between home and school regarding day-to-day concerns.
About you
- Hold an appropriate "D" driving licence with PCV entitlement for the vehicle being driven.
- Completed MIDAS and First Aid Training.
- Committed to delivering a safe, reliable, and compassionate service.
- Flexible to work within core service hours and outside normal office hours as required by rota.
- Willingness to wear a uniform while on duty.
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure required.
Qualifications
- Valid "D" driving licence with PCV entitlement.
- MIDAS and First Aid training completed or willingness to complete as part of role requirements.
