About the Role
Amazon is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Controversy Team focusing on EMEA tax controversy matters, including transfer pricing and Advanced Pricing Agreement (APA) disputes, Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP), and tax litigation related to corporate income tax and VAT issues. This role requires operating in a dynamic environment, managing multiple ongoing projects with competing deadlines, and delivering impactful results.
You will collaborate with various teams across the business to drive forward and resolve tax controversy issues across the EMEA region. The role involves some international travel and close partnership with other Amazon tax team members handling transfer pricing, international tax issues, mergers and acquisitions, and tax compliance. Additionally, you will coordinate and liaise with the Amazon Legal team on EMEA tax litigation matters.
The Global Tax Controversy team manages tax audits and disputes across multiple jurisdictions globally and maintains relationships with tax authorities in various countries. The team also handles competent authority relationships between the United States and its treaty partners globally in both APA and MAP contexts.
Experience
7+ years of tax experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm, an established tax department of a top UK law firm, or a highly regarded overseas legal practice.
Strong corporate and/or indirect tax experience with a focus on tax controversy and/or transfer pricing.
Exceptional written and verbal English language skills.

Qualifications
