About the Role
Are you passionate about working for an organisation that drives change and supports people with a learning disability? Mencap is seeking a motivated Employer Engagement Officer to join our Supported Internship programme team in Litchfield. In this role, you will be central to delivering our Mencap Training Academy by securing high quality work experience and paid opportunities for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on the Supported Internship Programme.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring high quality support for each learner, maintaining accurate records of work placements and progress towards paid employment, acting as an ambassador for Mencap by delivering learning disability awareness sessions to employers, and liaising with the Senior Skills Coach to plan in-work support hours to meet funding targets. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, learner support networks, employers, and work closely with the wider team to meet learners’ needs.

This role offers the opportunity to develop and maintain strong partnerships with employers across various sectors and contribute to meaningful employment outcomes for young people with SEND.

Experience
- Experience of working with people with a learning disability
- Experience of supported employment
- In-depth knowledge and experience of engaging with employers
- A track record of securing paid work outcomes and delivering against targets
- Experience of employment and education programmes

Qualifications
All candidates offered an interview will need to provide evidence of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at interview stage.
