About the Role
This is an exciting new post within the world-renowned Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) Service at St Thomas' Hospital, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will join an established team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) to provide both administrative expertise and direct support to individuals with EB, a rare genetically inherited skin fragility condition. Responsibilities include non-clinical follow-up, visiting patients in clinics, wards, and occasionally at home, and acting as a key coordinator to ensure high quality care and a positive patient experience for all registered with the service. The role also involves raising awareness of EB and the CNS team's work among local healthcare professionals. The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist care commissioned by NHS England, supporting patients referred from across the UK. The role requires promoting dignity and human rights through person-centered care principles, ensuring the safety and well-being of service users.

Requirements

Experience
- Experience working within healthcare services
- Experience supporting people with long-term and/or life-limiting conditions
- Experience meeting national and local targets
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

About you
- Educated to degree level
- Understanding of equal opportunities
- Knowledge of the role of the EB CNS team in delivering specialist care locally and nationally
- Awareness of recent NHS developments
- Commitment to promoting dignity and human rights through person-centered care principles

Desirable
- Experience working within the NHS or liaising with NHS professionals
- Ability to provide training materials and sessions to a variety of individuals
