About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support the Dartford Borough Council community by working within Housing Services as a Handyperson. You will undertake maintenance and repair tasks within tenants’ homes and common areas on our estates. This front line role involves working closely with the Housing Maintenance team to provide excellent customer service.

The role includes:
- Undertaking maintenance and minor repairs
- Completing external landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Repairing equipment
- Completing internal and external painting
- Assembling tenants’ furniture
- Identifying and reporting the need for associated repair works
- Undertaking quality control inspections of contractors’ minor repairs

This position is customer-facing and requires a good command of spoken English to effectively perform the job requirements. A works vehicle will be provided for the role.

Experience
Relevant experience is essential. Candidates should have experience using hardware tools and equipment and possess knowledge of building and construction.

About you
You will have basic math skills, excellent communication skills, be well organised, able to problem solve, and have strong attention to detail. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are stated; however, a good command of spoken English is required to meet the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) for customer-facing roles.
