About the Role
Join the London Borough of Newham and help build a fairer, more equitable community for children and families. We are a vibrant, culturally rich borough with a young population and a commitment to inclusive, representative social work practice. Our Family Support and Safeguarding (FSS) Service combines assessment and intervention teams to provide holistic, relational support to families from first contact through to longer term interventions. The service is structured into four services and sixteen teams, including specialist teams for children and families affected by disability or SEND. Social workers in this service are caseholding and participate in a duty rota, offering a balanced workload and professional development opportunities.
We value wellbeing and offer a modern office environment, remote working options when not visiting families, flexible working policies, and clinical support to help you deliver your best work. Our Circles of Support practice model, recently nominated for the MJ Award for Innovation in Children’s Services, underpins our restorative, systemic approach focused on positive outcomes for children and families.
We are committed to tackling disproportionality and fostering an inclusive culture that reflects the diverse communities we serve. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced social workers to join a forward-thinking local authority dedicated to professional growth and excellence in children’s social care.
Experience
Qualified, SWE registered social workers with experience beyond the ASYE year in either assessment or long-term work with children and families.
