Full Time - 38.5 hours per week, working 11 hour shifts on a rota basis covering a mixture of day (7:30-20:00) and night (19:30-08:00) shifts

Salary
£14.50 per hour rising to £14.80 per hour after 3 months

About the Role
Join Cygnet Hospital Beckton, offering secure mental health services for women across four specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services. As a Female Mental Health Support Worker, you will be a vital part of a dynamic team supporting nursing staff with the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of inpatients, always prioritising dignity and safety.
You will work closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support the implementation of treatments and therapies according to individual care plans. Your role will include providing support to qualified nurses, undertaking safe observations of patients (sometimes 1:1), and meeting the physical and emotional needs of service users with care and empathy.
You will also play an active role in maintaining patients’ physical and mental wellbeing through individual or group work, ensuring a safe, clean and supportive environment. Working within safeguarding guidelines, you will undertake training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques to support patients with potentially violent or aggressive behaviours.
This role requires completion of mandatory training and induction, including restraint training. Please note, visa sponsorship is not offered and candidates must have at least 18 months remaining on their current visa to be considered.

Experience
Previous inpatient mental health experience is ideally required, preferably in a challenging and/or acute setting.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in a relevant care setting is preferable but not essential
