About the Role
This is a high-profile senior role within the Commercial Finance team at Superdrug Head Office. The primary responsibility is to provide and analyse financial information to generate insight and recommendations that support value-added decision-making. You will partner closely with the Trading, Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to drive performance, support strategic initiatives, and ensure robust financial control. The role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent reporting capability, and confident use of financial systems. You will also manage a direct report, providing coaching and mentoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Being the finance owner of all elements of company stock, providing financial analysis, insight, and support including stock targets, slow moving stock, and stock provision calculations
- Managing financial processes and controls related to stock, including month-end accounting and KPIs, and presenting financial updates to senior stakeholders
- Overseeing production and delivery of weekly and monthly reports with KPIs and performance commentary
- Supporting Cosmetics & Fragrance Trading teams to understand sales and margin performance and help achieve Supplier Income and promotional retros targets
- Leading financial support for strategic trading projects and tenders with robust financial modelling and analysis
- Leading the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes for stock and relevant trading areas
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting, controls, and efficiency
- Providing ad-hoc analysis and support to the wider Finance function and leadership teams
- Managing, coaching, and developing a Finance Analyst
This role is ideal for someone who can convert financial performance into compelling commercial narratives tailored for senior stakeholders, identify issues and bring clarity to complex financial problems, build strong influential relationships, work cross-functionally, challenge assumptions, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced retail environment.
Experience
5+ years of finance experience with strong commercial finance background, ideally within retail. Proven ability in financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications
CIMA, ACCA, ACA preferred.
