About the Role
Join the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames and London Borough of Sutton Shared Finance Service as a Financial Reporting Manager, a senior leadership role responsible for the financial integrity and statutory accounts of one of the two authorities. You will lead the annual closing process and production of the Statement of Accounts, providing expert technical guidance on balance sheets, grants, and collection funds. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting & Control, you will act as a key advisor to the S151 officer and Assistant Director, ensuring accurate and strategic financial reporting.
Working within a peer-led model alongside another Financial Reporting Manager, you will collaborate closely to align accounting practices across the shared service. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects such as the London Cancer Hub and Kingston’s largest housing regeneration programme, while supporting the boroughs’ commitments to tackling the climate emergency.

Experience
Extensive experience in closing the accounts of a large Local Authority with a deep understanding of the CIPFA Code and statutory reporting frameworks. Proven ability to provide high-level technical expertise in financial reporting, systems, control, and tax.
