About the Role
The FOI and Parliamentary Briefing Officer will independently manage Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and parliamentary briefings, liaising with colleagues as appropriate. Key responsibilities include networking effectively across all NHS England Directorates and the Chief Executive's office, actively managing FOI cases, ensuring effective record-keeping and knowledge management, and representing the FOI function internally as an advocate for its importance.
The role involves project management duties such as undertaking information and project analysis, participating in internal and external working groups, maintaining data collection systems, and providing analytical advice and support. The post holder will analyse and report on data, monitor data processing, and provide project leads with relevant statistical information.
Financial responsibilities include supporting resource targeting, monitoring expenditure, implementing and evaluating financial recovery and savings plans, and contributing to the timely delivery of the agreed portfolio.
People management duties, where applicable, include providing training, advice, and support, assisting with staff induction, supervising day-to-day team activities, and participating in recruitment processes.
Information management tasks involve timely and accurate analysis and reporting, database development and maintenance, and contributing to effective team information management.
The role also supports research and development through auditing projects and services, conducting web-based and publication research, and contributing to the development of key performance indicators.
Planning and organisation responsibilities include supporting project and service implementation through information analysis and administrative support, organising meetings and events, and assisting with diary management related to the portfolio.
In policy and service development, the post holder will propose improvements, contribute to reviewing and developing project information management systems, and act as an authorised signatory for travel and meeting expenses.
The role requires maintaining constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, developing and implementing project data collection systems, and communicating information through briefings and reports.

Experience
Proven ability to manage FOI cases and parliamentary briefings independently. Experience in project management, data analysis, and financial monitoring is desirable. Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and across teams is essential.

Qualifications
