About the Role
Shape the future of healthcare at the University of East London by leading the Foundation for Health Professions (Level 3) programme. Based at the Stratford Campus, you will play a pivotal role bridging the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience with the forthcoming School of Medicine, launching in 2028 (subject to GMC approval). This role offers the opportunity to lead a vital pipeline course that prepares students from diverse backgrounds for progression into nursing, midwifery, allied health professions, and medicine.
As Course Lead, you will provide academic leadership and oversight of the curriculum, ensuring a high-quality, integrated student experience that combines rigorous science with clinical skills and simulation. You will champion widening participation and inclusivity, supporting students to build confidence and professional identity in healthcare.
Key responsibilities include academic oversight of the course, collaboration with Nursing, Midwifery, and Medicine teams to ensure smooth progression pathways, and partnership with careers services and healthcare providers to keep the curriculum aligned with workforce needs. This is a unique opportunity to influence healthcare education and support the next generation of UK health professionals.
Experience
Professional qualification in a healthcare discipline such as Nursing, Midwifery, Medicine, or Allied Health Professions with current professional registration. Experience teaching in Higher Education, ideally at Level 3 (Foundation), and demonstrated leadership in academic settings including team coordination and quality assurance.
