About the Role
You will be working on BlackRock's investment operating system called Aladdin, a platform used internally and externally by many financial institutions. Aladdin combines sophisticated risk analytics with comprehensive portfolio management, trading, and operations tools to power informed decision-making for thousands of users worldwide. The Trading Engineering team is a highly skilled, collaborative group dedicated to building robust solutions that empower BlackRock's trading business. Operating at the intersection of finance and technology, the team designs systems that ensure reliability, speed, and scalability in a global trading environment.

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services supporting trading operations. You will collaborate closely with traders, product managers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions. Your responsibilities include implementing and optimizing high-performance APIs, microservices, and data processing pipelines, troubleshooting technical challenges, and continuously researching new technologies to enhance system performance.

Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to fostering a positive, innovative team culture. This role places you at the heart of BlackRock's Aladdin platform, driving investment and trading operations for BlackRock and its clients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Experience
- Minimum 4 years' proven experience as a Full Stack Engineer, preferably in trading, finance, or similarly complex environments.
- Strong proficiency in modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Proven experience with object-oriented programming languages, especially Java 17+.
- Expertise in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs; experience with GraphQL APIs is a plus.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, including highly available distributed NoSQL platforms like Ignite.
- Prior experience in trading or financial services technology teams is preferred.
- Knowledge of trading protocols and low-latency systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot web services.
