About the Role
As a Full Stack Software Engineer at Minerva Defence, you will be responsible for taking feature requests from frontline users and designing, implementing, testing, and shipping them. You will take full ownership of this process across the entire stack, whether that involves backend, frontend, embedded systems, machine learning, or networking. Minerva Defence is one of the fastest-growing defence technology companies in Europe, creating software, hardware, and networking solutions that make unmanned systems effective on the modern battlefield. All products are ideated, designed, and manufactured end-to-end in the UK and are actively used today.

Our team is small but highly impactful, and we seek engineers who are not only talented but deeply committed to the work, the team, and the mission. You will work directly on products used daily by frontline operators, implementing features that improve their operational effectiveness. You will be expected to take complete ownership of the features you develop, including implementation, field testing, and deployment.

We look for candidates comfortable working across the full stack, including networking and lower-level work, and who are eager to learn new areas as needed to deliver reliable and robust solutions. Responsibilities include leading the development of new features based on customer feedback or novel Minerva products, working across backend (primarily Python), frontend, embedded, networking, or ML domains, and ensuring timely delivery of reliable feature updates that enhance operational output.

Experience
- Proven experience shipping production software at a high standard
- Solid grounding in both backend and frontend development
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices
- Experience with Linux and lower-level languages (preferred)
- Experience with networking and cyber-security (preferred)
- Experience deploying and optimising machine learning models on edge devices (preferred)
