Full Time - Fixed Term Contract for 2 Years

About the Role
Ealing Council offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated graduate to start their career as a Graduate Environmental Health Officer in a fast-paced environment. This role supports you to learn and exercise the full range of enforcement powers across environmental health services. You will gain practical experience and work towards full qualification and registration as an Environmental Health Practitioner under the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) pathway.

As a Graduate Environmental Health Officer, you will support the delivery of the Council’s statutory and non-statutory environmental health functions, policies, and strategic objectives. Your work will include promoting regulatory compliance among landlords, food businesses, and other duty holders through education, advice, interventions, and enforcement where necessary. You will respond to and investigate complaints and service requests across a wide range of environmental health matters including housing standards, food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, and public health.

You will liaise with internal departments and external agencies such as the Food Standards Agency, Health and Safety Executive, DEFRA, Environment Agency, MHCLG, police, and fire services to deliver a joined-up approach to public protection and safety.

Requirements

Experience
Recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate holding, or about to obtain, a CIEH accredited qualification in Environmental Health at a minimum of level 6 (BSc, MSc, or Level 6 Apprenticeship).

Qualifications
Hold, or be about to obtain, a CIEH accredited qualification in Environmental Health at level 6 or equivalent.
