About the Role
Do you want to lead the contract management operation behind one of UK Parliament's essential services? As Head of Contract and Cost Management in the Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team, you will steer strategy, spending, and supplier performance at the heart of the Parliamentary Estate. You will oversee a £30m+ annual budget covering staffing, third-party maintenance, and capital projects. Your role will drive value for money through robust forecasting, investment planning, and long-term business modelling.

You will shape the culture of commercial excellence by setting policy, improving supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with financial and procurement standards. Working closely with procurement and finance colleagues, you will lead a team to deliver high-performing contracts and a resilient supply chain.

This pivotal role prepares Parliament's estate for future investment by balancing cost, quality, and service to support Members and colleagues across the estate.

In addition to salary, the role offers an attractive range of benefits including generous annual leave starting at 30 days (increasing to 35 after one full working year), enrolment in the Civil Service pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 27%, and flexible working options including enhanced parental leave, caring leave, and alternative working patterns.
