Housing is central to this mission. The borough is seeking four senior leaders to stabilise, modernise, and transform housing services. Having undergone a major transition, Sutton is embedding a new culture across teams previously operating under different models. Priorities include securing safe affordable homes, reducing temporary accommodation use, strengthening systems and compliance, and working in partnership with Sutton Housing Partnership and other stakeholders to prioritise residents. This is an opportunity to lead change with purpose and pace.

About the Role
This role offers real impact. You will lead the new homes programme and be responsible for maximising affordable housing supply across the borough. This includes shaping the delivery of Sutton’s Local Plan and driving growth and regeneration opportunities that will define the future of local communities. You will identify and progress new sites, oversee land acquisition, and secure funding from external sources such as the GLA and other partners.

You will collaborate closely with developers, Registered Providers, and Sutton Living Ltd to deliver high-quality homes and vibrant places that reflect ambitions for sustainability and design excellence. Leading a significant capital programme, you will ensure projects are feasible, affordable, and meet the highest standards while embedding robust governance and risk management.

Experience
Substantial senior experience in housing development and enabling, with a proven track record of delivering complex programmes from concept to completion. Experience working within a political environment and advising elected members and senior stakeholders is essential. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with developers, funders, and partners, and to unlock new funding streams and delivery vehicles.
